More on Safe Sin
Numbers 32:23; Proverbs 28:13
“. . . and be sure your sin will find you out.” Num. 32:23
Recently there has been a great furor over a very popular and really excellent basketball player who proved to have the Aids Virus. Apparently, there was no question of it having been acquired through some accidental innocent contact. It seems certain that sin was involved. Instead of confession, repentance, and repudiation of any further such lifestyle, he has announced that he plans to spend whatever time he has left teaching our youth that there is a safe way to sin! Of course, he didn’t put it quite that boldly, but that is plainly what was meant. Almost without exception the press and other forms of media climbed on the bandwagon, lauding him to the skies for such a marvelous or commendable goal. What a heartbreak for those who really care about moral standards and the future of our young people. This message of so-called “safe sex” is just another disastrous lie of the devil. “Safe sex”, in the world’s meaning of the term, is an exact synonym of plain old sin, for it speaks of sex out of wedlock or in any one of the perverted sex practices so common today. I agree with Billy Graham, that if God does not bring drastic punishment to the U.S.A., or parts of it, He is going to need to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
Thank God for the many wonderful young people who are not taken in by the lies of the devil and those who work with him. We don’t hear much about them in the news, but we will hear about them in the days and years ahead, if Jesus tarries, for thoroughly saved, entirely sanctified young folks, under God’s leading are the only hope the church or world has. God puts His best players in when the game is roughest, and I say God bless them, and keep them pure and clean.
