“. . . but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” Rom. 8:24-25
Faith pleases God. It is necessary for receiving all of God’s blessings.
God is the one who decided that faith would be the way. So, make up your mind that faith will be your way. If you have not been saved, you will only be saved by faith. If you have not been sanctified entirely, you will only be sanctified by faith. You will not receive God’s blessing by your works.
You must know, however, that there are two hindrances to faith: Satan and sin. If you let them, they will rob you of any blessings you have received from God or any blessings you need from God, because they can rob you of your faith.
Satan knows faith is essential, that’s why he does all he can to keep you from believing. The principle of sin we inherited from Adam creates an unbelieving spirit in us, which also can keep you from believing and receiving God’s blessings.
Only faith will defeat Satan’s attacks on our faith, and only faith will destroy the citadel of sin, the source of unbelief.
Of course, I am talking about faith in God, His power and goodness, and in His promises, their reliability and personalness. You can believe Him and His interest in you.
Make up your mind that you will, in all things great and small, take God’s way. The way of faith.
